OUTLOOK and Hotmail users have been left unable to login to their email, as a Microsoft outage has swept across the UK.
Outlook is down across the UK, email users have claimed.
Thousands of Outlook users have reported issues accessing the email service, believed to be linked to an authentication issue hitting Office 365.
Outlook users who have not logged in to the service for a while have been left unable to access the online portal, according to those affected.
Hotmail email addresses, which are also handled by Microsoft, appear to be hit with the same issues.
"Something went wrong :( The server can't sign you in right now. Please try again later," reads the error page confronting hundreds of users trying to login to Outlook.
Outlook users across the UK, Europe, Japan and Australia have reported problems accessing the service.
The issues with Outlook were first reported around 11:00 GMT.
Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages, shows problems with Outlook across a number of countries.
Enraged customers have flooded social media to complain about the issues surrounding Outlook.

One user tweeted the Redmond-based company: “@hotmail.com Is shocking!! Systems are down...AGAIN! Not only this but you can’t even handle our large shared inbox at work! So irritating”
According to one Outlook user posting on Twitter, the latest outage appears to be affecting the authentication service shared by Office 365 and Outlook.
“If you haven't opened Outlook for a while, you won't be able to login either. So definitely on the auth side,” the user tweets.
Microsoft has yet to update its Service Status to reflect any problems with Outlook.
However, the US technology firm has confirmed issues with Office 365 affecting users across the UK.
“We’ve determined that an authentication issue is preventing users from accessing the Office365 service,” it writes.
“This issue is limited to the APAC and EMEA regions and we’re working to resolve it.”
